De Ballentent is on the Parkkade, sorry I missed a 'r'. On the way to de Ballentent you will pass "Dewi Sri", a very good and renown Indonesian restaurant on the Westerkade. Both localities have outside harbourside terraces, if the weather permits !

The description says it all ... except my personal experience tops it ! OK, I was lucky to stay in a suite on the 18th floor with a breathtaking view over the always busy Nieuwe Waterweg. This hotel is just superb. Furniture by Montis, AC, very quiet rooms. OK, contrary the description the bar / restaurant is not exactly 'rooftop' but a very spacious terrace on the 7th floor. The view still remains spectacular .... Very friendly and efficient young personnel, trendy bar & restaurant, an exceptional wide variety breakfast buffet. Next to the hotel is a spacious indoor parking, "Q-park / the Rotterdam", reduced day-ticket ( 33% ) which can be paid at checking out. By the way, checking in - and -out goes within a heartbeat. This hotel is on the 'kop van Zuid', several very good international, Brazilian, Japanese, even Dutch .... ;-) restaurants within walking distance and on the riverside quays. Visit Hotel New York for a 'drink & bite'. Take a water-taxi and visit the old & famous cruiseship SS Rotterdam ! Water taxis are a great way to explore the harbours. OK, the ride can get bumpy sometimes ;-) Or cross the iconic Erasmus bridge and stroll along the quays where there are more bars and restaurants. Go west ... and if you wish to meet the locals & if you can 'handle' it : "de Ballentent" on the Pakkade, the best meatball restaurant in NL, with its typical Rotterdam humorous-harbourside flair !! ENJOY, highly recommended !!
