The Coachman Hotel is a hip, re envisioned former motel with rustic-chic interiors located on the Californian side of Lake Tahoe. Simple and modern, rooms feature custom made plywood furniture, a rubber floor "wet area", heated toilet seats and high quality beds and linens. Room facilities include a 43" cable and Apple TV and a curated minibar. The central bar serves as both reception desk, a traditional bar serving coffee, beer and wine and a lounge with books and board games. There is also a breakfast area (✅complimentary breakfast), an outdoor pool (seasonal), hot tub (all year) and fire pits. Free access to a nearby beach.
The DNA: Originally built in the 1960’s as two separate motels, The Green Lantern and The Royal Coachman, the property was built as part of the tourism boom for the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley. In the 1980’s the properties were combined and known as The Green Lantern, until now. In 2000, the Heavenly Gondola and Village opened just a few blocks from the hotel and revitalized the area. The transformation continues in South Lake Tahoe overall with ongoing enhancements to outdoor recreation activities, new businesses, and revitalization of old properties.
