Sound View is a revamped motor hotel from the 1950s located directly on the Long Island Sound. The rooms (all with sea views) feature a Bauhaus-meets-the beach aesthetic rooms and come with a shared patio or private balcony. Recycled cork-and-rubber floors resemble the just-outside-the-door pebble beach; maroon custom bedspreads remind of fiery sunsets; and bespoke cedar shiplap walls recall a modernist interpretation of waves. The hotel's restaurant - headed by Galen Zamarra of Mas (Farmhouse) in Manhattan - has a seafood-inspired menu which is served on the deck or in the light-filled dining room. There is also a lounge, a seasonal outdoor pool, a tennis court, a sauna and a fitness room.
