L'Horizon Resort & Spa sits on 2.5 landscaped acres about 2 miles from downtown Palm Spring. This luxury boutique hotel was built in 1952 and retains its 1950s and 1960s celebrity hangout vibe.
The bright 25 freestanding private bungalows feature midcentury-modern architecture with collectible vintage pieces mixed with bespoke modern furniture made by high-end, small batch manufacturers to give each bungalow the feel of a renovated modern home. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls break down the distinction between indoor and outdoor space and low-slung ceilings in Douglas fir tongue and groove give the bungalows a cozy, vintage feel. Facilities include minifridges plus flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, platform-style beds and patios. There are breathtaking views of the San Jacinto mountains and some rooms offer private outdoor showers. There's also a house with a full-sized pool and enclosed patio. Complimentary continental breakfast and room service.
The SO.PA restaurant is helmed by Michelin-starred chef Giacomo Pettinari, who honed his craft at Spain’s El Bulli. Guests can dine either family style at a 26-foot-long, live-edge walnut table, or in the outdoor dining space, which features a firepit, custom fountains, and geometric chandeliers.
Other amenities include a heated infinity-edged outdoor pool and the Spa features four treatment rooms and a relaxing outdoor space. Indulge in massages, facials and body treatments, aromatherapy, and fresh juice bar.
