Paço de Pombeiro is an intigruiging "Turismo de Habitação" made of a 12th-century tower, a 16th-century manor house and a cutting edge modern 21st-century extension. The imposing granite building has battlements, bevelled windows and two rare coats of arms by the family who still owns it today.
The Paço is situated along the Romanesque Route surrounded by vineyards. Many unique sights can be visited nearby, including the World Heritage Site City of Guimarães.
The private and subdued rooms in the new building consist of three areas: a sitting room with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the fields and vineyards, a bedroom separated by a half-height wall and a bathroom with a small private patio. Room facilities include a flat-screen satellite TV. In the historic building, rooms offer a traditional country décor and wooden furniture.
A complimentary continental breakfast is served in the modern lounge, which also has a flat-screen TV and a billiards table. In the old manor’s lounge there is a library and plush seats. Coffee and tea are available free-of-charge in the lounge.
The hotel has a seaonal outdoor swimming pool. Free bicycles are available to explore the surroundings.
