A lovely quiet oase tucked away in Frysian lowland. Modern warm interiors behind a distinct old facade. The rooms are accentuated with massive modern straight-edged oak furniture / upholstery. The same style furniture invites one to the cosy bar / lounge and of course the beautiful restaurant where the menu consists of regional products and very nice wines. Breakfast ( included in the room price ) is super and ( ! ) served at your table.
Also a nice place for a coffee & sweets break, lunch during a cycling tour or just having dinner. The very well assorted separate list of spirits / liquors tempts one to sit a bit longer ;-)

Amazing to find such a place in the far north of The Netherlands (read: in the middle of nowhere). Also amazing that a place renovated in 2000 still looks that good: speaking of quality furniture, this really is. We had the room pictured here which was completely without any clutter and really stylish. Bathroom was beautiful combining marble with oak.
Downstairs is a small bar/lounge and a rather excellent restaurant. Bit pricy, but the \'surprise\' menu and accompaniment wine selection was good value. The restaurant uses regional produce. Both at dinner and breakfast we enjoyed the home made bread. Breakfast was really well prepared and presented. Unusual pre- and after dinner drinks list.
Fantastic that unexpected places exist in unexpected places.
