Comprising a duo of buildings gutted down to their shells and woven together—one a Georgian mansion from the 1700s and the other its 20th-century extension, Eden Locke boasts 72 designer studios. It is located in the re-energised West End of Edinburgh, a 15-minute stroll from the Old Town.
At the heart of the building is Hyde & Son, Eden Locke’s third wave coffee bar by day, and stylish wine and cocktail bar by night, offering a carefully curated selection of wines and artisan spirits. It boasts a solarium feel thanks to green and pink hues, terracotta planters filled with greenery, rattan and knitted low-slung furniture, and natural light that pours through a wall of windows. A series of cultural programmes are offered throughout the week, especially aimed at long-stay guests.
The studios come with a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, tea and coffee bags, an individual box of granola, fresh milk, bottled water and a cocktail shaker). Other facilities include a flat-screen TV and a bathroom with walk-in shower.
