The DNA: Owned by the Tschuggen Hotel Group (Tschuggen Grand
Arosa, Carlton Hotel
St Moritz), the Valsana is the first hotel in Switzerland powered by an ice vault, an underground thermal energy storage system that allows excess energy to be stored. The three buildings are constructed to the highest environmental and energy standards and are characterised by state-of-the-art architecture in wood and stone.
Drawing inspiration from the area’s natural surroundings, Roman Mooser
uses eco-friendly materials for the architecture, while interior designer and Ascona native Carlo Rampazzi
selected furnishings and décor that match the hotel’s eco-conscious ethos.
