Jacques Garcia to design London hotel
French architect and designer Jacques Garcia is to design a boutique hotel in London's Holborn area. Planning permission has been granted to convert the Grade-II listed former Baptist church in to a boutique hotel. The project will include the construction of four additional storeys and accommodation within the historic rooms. Called Lifestyle Hotel L'Oscar, the property is due to open in 2016. It will feature 67 bedrooms, bars, a restaurant, spa facilities, gym and conference facilities.

When the deal closes in mid-2016, the new Marriott International will have 1.1 million rooms, 5,500 hotels and 30 brands – yes 30 brands – and fee revenues of more than US$2.7 billion.
X2 Resort River Kwai debuts floating cabins
X2 River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand introduced six floating guest cabins. As the first floating cabins in Asia, the XFloat Cabins are located on the River Kwai, which offers riverside scenery and views of the historical countryside.
nhow London announced
NH Hotel Group has signed a management agreement with AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets for the Spanish group's first nhow hotel in the UK. A 190-room hotel is scheduled to open in London's Shoreditch area by 2019. The eight-storey property will be part of the 5.5-acre 250 City Road mixed-use project, designed by the widely acclaimed Foster + Partners architects studio. NH currently has three nhow-branded hotels in operation, in Milan, Berlin and Rotterdam, with further projects in the pipeline for Amsterdam and Santiago de Chile.
